Helping to encourarge an interest in local history and archives with access to a wealth of historical material
Service provided to Schools:
Visits to schools to promote the full range of services provided by the Local Studies and Archive Centre, along with class visits to the Centre, which are free, on any aspect of local history.
The main aim of this outreach service is to encourage an interest in local history and archives and to present the wealth of historical material held within the Centre to both children and teachers. Archive staff can present a varied approach to teachers, students and pupils seeking primary source material for local studies projects, or as a teaching resource for the study of history in the National Curriculum.
