Working to support schools in managing pupils who have social emotional and mental health difficulties in school.
Social Emotional and Mental Health Support staff form part of the Early Intervention Teams in the London Borough of Bexley. They work to support schools in managing pupils who have social emotional and mental health difficulties in school. They can work directly with pupils or offer support to staff in developing their own skills.
Work with pupils requires parental consent (except for post 16). The Early Intervention Team have referral forms which need to be completed and signed by the parent prior to work commencing with a particular child or young person.
It is possible for the team to give limited advice on pupils where parental consent has not been obtained. This may include working with the parent on how to obtain consent.
Our service standards
The service will be provided in accordance with the service level agreement. If there is a need to vary this in any way, either from the provider or from the school, this will be discussed and agreed between both parties.
Comments, compliments and complaints should be made in the first instance to the member of staff concerned. Where complaints arise we will treat these constructively and will try to be proactive and resolve them quickly to your satisfaction.
Any serious complaint should be addressed to the Head of Service, who will then attempt to resolve the issue within the guidelines agree by the London Borough of Bexley.
Please make contact prior to making a request to ensure that the level of service you require is available. Currently this is based on the level of service received prior to the school becoming an Academy. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests for an increased level of service, but these will need to be negotiated in advance.
