The aim of this course is to support Early Years Settings to understand and support children with difficulties in speech, language and communication.
This training session includes learning focused on children who have difficulties understanding language, have speech delay, have poor listening and attentive skills or English as an additional language (EAL). It will explore development, highlight the difficulties that children may have within a setting, the impact on behaviour and give practical strategies to support children.
By the end of the training participants will be able to:
- Understand language development
- Start to understand the impact of delayed speech and difficulties in language and communication
- Understand issues around communication and be able to view this from a child’s perspective.
- To be confident in using a range of strategies to support children within a setting.
This course is offered to you at £30. We do not accept cancellations or non attendance. If you do cancel or fail to attend this course, you will be charged a £30 administration fee. Please ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the course is due to start as latecomers will be asked to leave.
