This course is open to Nurseries, Pre-schools and Childminders

Outline

This course will be split in 2 parts,

Part 1, This training is accredited by the Home Office and includes an introduction to Prevent, how it is relevant to the Early Years and some practical steps to implementation.
Part 2. How British values relate to an Early Years setting.

Description

Part 1, The training will look at:
  • The National and Local Prevent Context,
  • Understanding risk and vulnerability
  • Relating this to Early Years setting
Part 2,
. Understand the meaning of British values and how to promote them in your EY setting

  • Implementing the Prevent Duty within an Early Years framework.

Outcomes

At the end of this training, participants will be able to evidence an understanding of:
  • Prevent and the wider counter-terrorism agenda
  • How this relates to the children and families in Early Years
  • The signs and symptoms of vulnerability to radicalisation
  • Steps to take for intervention
  • The link with British Values
Part 2
. How to evidence the work you do in your setting to British values

Booking Information

This course is charged at £10 per delegate. However if you do not attend or cancel once booked you will be charged an additional administration fee of £30

Tea and coffee will be available

Please arrive early or on time as latecomers will not be admitted.

The trainer will focus on the specific learning and will not engage in conversations inappropriate to the task in hand.
Learners will be openly encouraged to do the same.
Each individual is responsible for their own learning and if there is anything they feel they should raise regarding the training they should do so with the trainer during the session
Each individual is expected to make a contribution, which will be valued and listened to
Individuals should respect the learning environment and try not to disrupt the training
There should be mutual respect within the group for individuals and their experiences
Naive questions will be considered the norm
